[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]December is always a busy month. We wrap up the year with the holiday season, with gatherings, baking, shopping and lots of extras in our day-to-day. Add that to the shortening of the days and the chill in the air, and there’s no doubt why so many people have low energy or feel overwhelmed.

Make this the month of self care- get enough sleep, eat balanced foods, slow down a bit. Get offline. Go outside. Keep your practice as consistent as you can. Know that there are days you will have the energy to BRING IT on your mat- and when you have those days, celebrate it! There will be days where you are tired and let that be ok. Modify your practice to fit what you need. Breathe deeply. Feel the breath in your feet. Focus on your exhale as a way to be grounded. Move mindfully and efficiently, on and off of the mat. Be inspired to let your yoga practice balance your life. And after Savasana, take a moment to appreciate the gift of your practice.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”47″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]When you can’t make it to the studio, try this sequence at home.  This is a short, 10 pose sequence with hip openers and inversions. Hip openers can help to relieve tension in the low back. And, inversions are great poses for your immune system and can both energize and relax you. Warm up with a few sun salutations and move with the rhythm of your breath. Settle into these poses as a way to recharge mind, body and spirit. Hold these poses for as many breaths as it feels good- and don’t forget a few minutes (or longer) in Savasana![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
